Ademola Lookman has presented his CAF Player of the Year award to Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Lookman was received by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and President Tinubu at the Government on Friday.
President Tinubu was in Lagos on a two-day visit.
Lookman was crowned Africa’s best player at a well-attended ceremony in Marrakech, Morocco, last December.
The 27-year-old succeeded his compatriot Victor Osimhen, who won the award in 2023.
The winger was recognised for his impressive displays for Nigeria during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
He scored three goals and registered one assist in seven appearances for the Super Eagles at the competition.
Lookman also played a crucial role in Atalanta’s UEFA Europa League success last season, netting a hat-trick in the final against Bayer Leverkusen.
