Lere Olayinka, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication and New Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, on Saturday rubbished the much-anticipated opposition coalition.
Olayinka described the opposition coalition as confused.
He explained that if the former Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar emerged as its flag bearer and Peter Obi as running mate, then the coalition was confused.
In what could be seen as a mockery of X, Olayinka posted: “Confused Coalition: Atiku as presidential candidate. Any Obi (even if na Obioma or Obiageli) as running mate. Issorite.”
Atiku, Obi, former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, are spearheading the formation of the opposition coalition.
On Tuesday night, the trio, alongside other stakeholders of the coalition, had met to take far-reaching decisions.
Confirming the meeting, El-Rufai said the coalition will return President Bola Tinubu to Lagos State in 2027.
In the meantime, there are indications that the coalition is shopping for a political party to adopt.
Currently, there is confusion over the coalition adopting the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
