Fredrick Oduwole, a pharmacist and residents of Gowon Estate Extension Residents Association has been elected as the chairman of the Association.
The Election which took place yesterday 26th of October 2024 was keenly contested and winners eventually emerged in various positions
Members of the resident association trooped out en-mass to exercise their franchise, voting for their choices. The positions of the chairman were not only contested as there are other positions like Chief security officer, won by mr Japan Amodu while that of the vice chairman was unanimously won by Mr. makanaki Momoh
Other position includes the legal Adviser, secretary and financial secretary respectively.
The Newly Elected Chairman, Pharm Oduwole in his acceptance speech thanked the residents for bestowing confidence in him saying he won’t disappoint them
Here him; ‘let me thank all the residents’ associations for trooping out to elect new executives as witnessed in reality against the failure of the past, be rest assured our tenure will be credible and accountable to the people and ultimately be innovative with driven purpose of why we’re elected
He said though, the past officers had serious allegation of corruption hanging on their neck , the new elected officers would prove their mettle of quality leadership in all spheres needed.
‘Our tenure will be all encompassing, inclusive and impactful as there’ll be no scared cow in ensuring accountability, he stated.
The vice chairman, Mr. Makanaky thanked all residents for bestowing confidence in the process that brought them in, adding that merit goes to the members of the community who is bent on ensuring that professionals with integrity are giving the chance of leading the community unlike the past where there’s the question of accountability and where no results of coming clean till day.
The Newly elected Secretary, Mr. Daniel Abdullahi thanked the organizers for ensuring smooth transition with smooth process that comes seamlessly with ensuring that elected officers were filled in the time when corruption had almost killed the Past officers
A member of the resident, Town Planner Gbadebo told our correspondent that he was happy about the whole development, particularly that they’ve been able to have a new chairman whose responsibility it is to oversee the development of the Gowon estate extension
