Daughter of former Nigerian president and governorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo has formally briefed President Bola Tinubu on her governorship ambition.

Obasanjo also reflected on her long-standing relationship with President Tinubu, describing it as one built over years of political engagement and mutual respect.

She said, “On Monday in Lagos, I had the privilege of meeting His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our conversation was insightful and forward-looking, focusing on leadership, governance and the ongoing development of our nation and Ogun State.”
During the meeting, the former commissioner reaffirmed her loyalty to the ruling party and pledged to actively mobilise support for President Tinubu ahead of the next general election.
The meeting is seen by observers as part of ongoing political consultations and alignments ahead of future electoral contests in Ogun State and at the national level.
