Arsenal fans have likened Dowman to football legend Lionel Messi.
The 15-year-old, who was introduced to the Gunners’ first team during pre-season activities, has enjoyed a brilliant start.
He was impressive coming off the bench against AC Milan and Newcastle United.
Speaking to reporters after their 3-2 win over Newcastle United, Arteta admitted that the club has a special talent on their hands.
“Yeah, it is special. Obviously, what he’s done today against this team in the time that he had on the pitch is something certainly not common to witness for a 15-year-old.
“We are extremely happy to have him. I think again about the environment that he’s in. His family, the people at the club and around the academy as well were super helpful because they put him in this position so early in his journey, having a real chance and a real presence when he plays for the first time.”
Arsenal fans have been left excited by the performance of the young midfielder and took to the social media platform X to compare him to Messi.
