The Lagos State House of Assembly has declared that it did not make any provision for the purchase of houses for its members in Abuja.
The lawmakers made this declaration while reacting to the rumoured allocation of some amount of money for the purchase of houses in Abuja.
Chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, Hon Stephen Ogundipe and the Chairman, House Committee on Economic Planning and Budget, Hon Sa’ad Olumoh, made these declarations on Tuesday in a statement.
They added that the jurisdiction of the Assembly covers Lagos State and not Abuja.
The duo said, “There is no provision whatsoever in the 2026 Budget for the purchase of houses in Abuja or anywhere else for members of the Lagos State House of Assembly”.
