Rangers’ manager Philippe Clement heaped plaudits on Cyriel Dessers for his maturity after the forward’s impressive display in the Scottish Cup win over Fraserburgh.
Dessers fired a hat-trick to steer the Light Blues into the fourth round of the competition.
It was a perfect response from the forward, who has struggled for regular playing time since the emergence of Hamza Igamane at the club.
Clement said the treble was a reward for Dessers’ hard work and perseverance.
“It proved his mentality, the way he has been working in the last few weeks when he has played less than before due to the rise of Hamza,” he told the club’s official website.
“Cyriel is a very good character in the dressing room who works hard, and he got his reward for all of that hard work.”
The 30-year-old has racked up 16 goals and five assists in 33 outings across all competitions for the Light Blues this season.
