Rangers head coach Barry Ferguson has defended Cyriel Dessers following criticism over the forward’s profligacy in front of goal.
Dessers has struggled to win over a large section of Rangers fans despite his impressive goal record at the club.
The Nigeria international scored his 46th Rangers goal from 100 appearances against Dundee last weekend.
The forward has been criticized by media and Ranger’s supporters for missing a number of easy chances as well.
Ferguson praised the forward for shutting his ears from critics.
“He puts himself in brilliant positions, he can get frustrated and start feeling sorry for himself, but he keeps going. He got his reward with the winner,” Ferguson was quoted by Rangers News.
“Even before I took the job, I always said the big guy would keep going. If he got criticism from fans and the media, the big man just rolls his sleeves up.”
