Operatives of the Nasarawa State Police Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, have arrested two suspected armed robbers and cattle rustlers.

DSP Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Nasarawa command stated this in a statement made available to Urban Express News Online on Saturday.

He said the command had on Friday received information that suspected armed robbers attacked a farm at Akwanga, inflicted injuries on the security guard using a Machete and rustled thirty-four cows.

“Acting based on the strength of the information, police operatives in collaboration with the military and Vigilante swiftly mobilised to the scene and rescued the injured security guard to the hospital for medical treatment and launched a manhunt for the criminals.

“The relentless search paid off on the same date at about 1316hrs where the criminals were intercepted at Akun Forest, Nasarawa Eggon where a gun duel ensued.

“Consequently, two suspects were fatally injured and arrested and the rustled cows subsequently recovered.

“The commissioner of police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed has commended the synergy exhibited by the security operatives that led to the success recorded and appreciated the Vigilante group for their support, and thereafter urged them to sustain the tempo”, the statement added.
