Chelsea is now holding talks over a move to sign Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.

According to a report from Simon Phillips, De Bruyne is expected to join a club in Major League Soccer (MLS, but is keeping his options open, as CaughtOffSide reports.

De Bruyne could still decide to continue in the Premier League with his contract expiring in the summer.

The Belgian will become a free agent and have the liberty to walk away from the Etihad on a Bosman.

The talks about a move to Stamford Bridge are considered to be at a preliminary stage.

De Bruyne has bagged five goals and eight assists across competitions this season.

If he finally moves to Stamford Bridge, the Blues will not need to rely on their former midfielder to start matches for them, due to the presence of Cole Palmer in the attacking midfield space.

He would serve as an excellent second choice, who could fill in during squad rotation or injury to the Englishman.
