Arsenal have not yet submitted an official offer for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze.
This comes amid the revelation that Eze’s £68million release clause will expire at 11:59 pm on Friday, August 1.
According to talkSPORT, the Gunners are aware of this deadline and have already informed Palace they are not planning to trigger it.
Eze’s release clause is made up of a £60m fixed fee with add-ons covering the rest.
But Arsenal value the 27-year-old below that and are willing to negotiate with their London rivals.
It is believed Eze is keen on the move and therefore personal terms will not be an issue.
Although Arteta has profiled Eze as a no.10, his versatility means he can also play wide left.
