Bayer Leverkusen’s Piero Hincapie has reached an agreement over personal terms with Arsenal.
Hincapie’s preference is the Gunners amid several offers to join other teams.
The 23-year-old is also viewed by manager Mikel Arteta as the right profile to add to his squad.
However, the Gunners are looking to offload Jakub Kiwior, to make space for the Ecuadorian defender.
Hincapie can play at left-back and in the centre of defence, and Arsenal’s offer is likely to be a loan with an obligation to buy.
“Piero Hincapié has said yes to Arsenal and personal terms have been agreed, long-term deal ready,” Football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano wrote on X.
“Understand Hincapié favours #AFC and is also seen as an ideal deal signing by Arteta.
“Arsenal prepare opening bid, likely loan + obligation to buy… with Kiwior to FC Porto, soon.”
