Elon Musk’s work for President Donald Trump has been rated low by at least 57% of Americans, according to a new poll.
The poll indicated that thirty-five percent of Americans approve of his job performance for the Trump administration, while 57% said they disapprove.
ABC News reports that resistance to a series of cuts on government spending by the Trump administration, spearheaded by the Department of Government Efficiency and led by Musk, could be the root of his negative ratings.
According to the report released on Sunday, 56% of Americans said they believe that Trump’s administration is going too far by laying off federal workers.
Meanwhile the 57%, are of the view that Trump is going too far in shutting down federal agencies.
According to the newspaper, among people who think the layoffs of workers are going too far, Musk has a dismal 6%-89% rating, approve-disapprove.
