Jerome Adams is nearing a return from injury, according to Sevilla manager, Garcia Pimienta, Urban Express News Online reports.
Adams copped a calf injury in training early last month.
The Nigerian was earlier expected to be sidelined for up to seven weeks.
Pimienta has however revealed that the forward is on his way to full recovery from the injury.
“He has done some work with the rehabilitation therapist. He has to undergo tests to see if he can be back next week,” he told the club’s official website.
“To be with the national team, I understand that he has to be cleared for competition. But that depends on the medical team.
“Logically, his national team wants to call him up, but I understand that he has to recover well first.”
Urban Express News Online recalls, Adams linked up with the Rojiblancos from Ligue 1, club Montpellier in January.
He has made just one league appearance for Sevilla.
