Former Turkish forward, Nihat Kahveci, has suggested that the love, passion, and support the Galatasaray fans have for striker Victor Osimhen might play a big role in getting him to remain at the club beyond this summer transfer window.
Osimhen has been impressive since joining Okan Buruk’s side on loan from Napoli last September.
The Nigerian international has netted 33 goals and provided seven assists in 37 games across all competitions for Galatasaray.
Osimhen’s brilliant loan spell has seen him attract interest from several clubs across Europe and the Middle East.
But Galatasaray are interested in keeping him permanently as well, beyond the summer transfer window.
But the Turkish giants will struggle to pay the release clause that Napoli placed on him.
Speaking on Osimhen’s situation, Kahveci said the 26-year-old is adored in Istanbul, adding that it could play a role in his transfer decision when the season finally ends in the coming days.
“Galatasaray fans even started to ask me about Osimhen. I think the possibility of keeping Osimhen is a success because the player is a very big name.
“Also, the teams that want him are very big,” Kahveci said in quotes revealed by Haber Sariki Mizi.
