A former press officer of the Super Eagles, Colin Udoh, has claimed that “European club football failed Osimhen”.

Udoh wrote this on X, amid the transfer speculations surrounding the future of the striker.

At the moment, it appears no club on the continent is prepared to take a gamble on the 26-year-old striker.

Al-Hilal are the most keen on taking Osimhen, who spent last season on loan at Galatasaray.

Although the Nigerian striker was close to joining Chelsea last summer, the Blues have decided to sign Liam Delap from Ipswich ahead of next season.

Udoh tweeted: “European club football failed Osimhen.

“I dare anyone to list 10 of Europe’s best strikers right now without Osimhen.

“Scratch that, make it 5.”
