Manchester United legend, Wayne Rooney has said that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland frustrates him.
He said this while expressing concerns over the Norwegian’s style of football, saying the striker needs to be more commanding on the pitch and use his strengths.
Rooney, one of the best strikers in the world during his playing days, told Rio Ferdinand on his YouTube channel that although he likes watching the Manchester City striker play, the Norway international frustrates him.
“I like watching Haaland, but he also frustrates me a bit. If you watch his movement in the 6-yard box, it’s incredible, but you want a bit more from him,” he said.
“I want him to be more commanding, look at the size of him. He’s like a beast, I want him to go and bully centre-backs.”
Earlier in the year, the former Everton and England striker had advised Haaland to be more selfish on the field of play.
On being more selfish, Rooney urged Haaland to start taking penalties like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
