Former Manchester City player Micah Richards has revised his earlier Premier League title prediction and now believes the “well-oiled machine” Arsenal is capable of winning it.
Richards believes that Mikel Arteta’s Gunners have a “strong case” to claim the title this season.
Arsenal’s 1-0 defeat of Crystal Palace on Sunday meant that the Gunners are now four points ahead of second-placed Bournemouth in the EPL log, with other contenders, including Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea, suffering defeats last weekend.
Richards said he is beginning to think that Mikel Arteta’s side is destined to win the Premier League, a diversion from his earlier position, which gave the title to Liverpool.
Richards said the Gunners have been impressive this season and are “finding ways to win games.”
Speaking on The Rest is Football podcast, Richards said: “Arsenal just snuff them [Crystal Palace] out and know how to kill a game. They’re so good at it.
Arsenal are finding ways to win games, and that’s why they have a strong case for winning the Premier League.
“I never quite believed it with Liverpool’s squad and their transfer window, but now you look at Arsenal, and they don’t give teams opportunities, they just don’t. They look like a well-oiled machine.”
