A lot of people tend to think leadership is solely about being the boss, giving orders here and there, creating fear, frowning when dealing with subordinates, and they think being a leader is having the right to be a dictator, making and breaking rules.
Little did they know that leadership is far greater than how low they portray it by being mean and sadistic, leadership is going out of ones way to ensure the safety of the people entrusted in ones care, it is the ability to impact and be impacted, it carries the server and the masters spirit or let me say mantle, it is that willingness to grow and develop along side with the subordinates who are your followers. https://urbanexpresslive.com/ucl-youre-weak-for-covering-your-mouth-with-a-shirt-vinicius-slams-prestianni-over-racist-comment/
Leadership is relearning, unlearning and learning new ways to be a footprint of hope, knowledge, growth, development, and a pathway of opportunity to your followers. There is a popular saying, ” A leader who didn’t impact knowledge on his followers will be lost to time when there is no one to take after him when he or she leaves”. It means what makes you a great leader is the ability to impact what you have learned on your followers in order for them to take after you once you are gone. Need me to remind you, power is transient, but what is not transient is the impact you made, the person who took over from you. When a leader has someone who took after him, it is said that the leader never really left, because in some way, he is still in charge, just in a different person.https://urbanexpresslive.com/it-took-him-twenty-years-to-prepare-for-presidency-joe-igbokwe-on-president-tinubu/
So look around, ask yourself this question: if I leave the office today, if I leave my position today, who will I call to sort out something urgently without getting a rejected response? Who have I touched and impacted? Who is carrying on with my footsteps? Who have I trained and taught all that I know that brought me this far? Who has the key to my knowledge and will be useful to the people around me when I’m no longer capable of doing it for them? Give people the opportunity to rise, hold the ladder for someone to climb. https://urbanexpresslive.com/benfica-vs-real-madrid-you-have-taken-wrong-direction-for-justifying-racial-abuse-seedorf-on-mourinho/
Being a leader is in the little way of nodding to your subordinate for a job well done, it’s that gentle smile that embraces your cheeks when relating with them, it is that cheerful little wave of hi and hello when they salute you, it is that show of concern in your voice when an issue is brought to your table. is the ability to give them a fair hearing so that they can express themselves.
Leadership is supposed to be exciting. Talking and cheering your subordinates on when they get themselves a greater opportunity either with your work sector or outside your work sector, that only shows how well you have taught them, nested and nurtured them, just like every bird must one day leave its nest, it is that proud smiles that tells a story of contentment that you have done your part and have groomed them well enough that they are found wanted to show themselves approved somewhere else. https://urbanexpresslive.com/epl-why-alan-smith-blames-two-arsenal-stars-for-2-2-draw-with-wolves/
Be that leader today; let us change the dynamics that say being a leader means being mean and cruel.
