The Libya Football Federation, LFF, has vowed to take legal actions against the Nigeria Football Federation.

According to the LFF’s statement, this is “to preserve the rights of the Libyan National Team”.

It claimed that their delegation was poorly treated in Nigeria.

Nigeria and Libya met in the first leg of their two-legged Africa Cup of Nations qualifier on Friday.

The Super Eagles managed a 1-0 win over the North African side in Uyo.

There was no report of the Arab country filing any sort of case against Nigeria to the Confederation of African Football, CAF.

The second leg was scheduled to be played in Benina, Libya on Tuesday but will no longer hold following the humiliation meted out to the Nigerian delegation by the host.

The Super Eagles and their coaching crew were poorly treated on their arrival in Libya on Sunday.

The action of the hosts forced the players to pull out of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matchday four encounter.

The players and officials arrived in Nigeria from Libya on Monday evening.

However, the LFF has gone ahead to condemn the NFF action not to play the game on Tuesday.

A statement from the Libyans added, “The LFF denounces the inappropriate behavior of the delegation which almost prevented the Libyan delegation from playing the game last Friday, which is a violation to CAF rule.

“The LFF emphasized that the NFF did not cooperate regarding the match in Nigeria as they did not receive equal treatment meted to other countries, and as stipulated in regulations – resulting to them not having a fair and equal opportunity.

“The LFF apologizes to Libyan fans and followers and affirms that the NFF will bear full responsibility for failure to hold the match as scheduled.”
