Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé has expressed his delight at winning the FIFA International Cup at the Lusail Stadium on Wednesday.
The stadium is where the Frenchman famously faced Lionel Messi in an iconic World Cup battle exactly two years ago.
Mbappé, back to full fitness, had an impressive night with Los Blancos, scoring once in their 3-0 victory over Pachuca.
This marked his return to Doha, Qatar’s capital, for the first time since the 2022 FIFA World Cup final on December 18, 2022.
While the former Paris Saint-Germain forward lost that World Cup final to Argentina on penalties, he ended up on the winning side this time.
After the match, the former Monaco star shared his excitement on Instagram, celebrating the triumph at the iconic stadium.
“The Intercontinental Cup is back in Madrid. Second title of the season. This time I won at Lusail Stadium… #HalaMadrid.”
