In a tragic turn of events, bandits launched an attack on Yasore settlement in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State, leaving one person dead and at least five others injured. Several residents were also abducted during the assault, which has plunged the community into fear and mourning.

The attack, according to a report by a social media user, @DanKatsina50, was allegedly a reprisal for the successes recorded earlier by security forces in neutralizing bandits during an operation in Ruwan Dorawa community, Dutsin-Ma LGA of the state.

The incident reportedly unfolded in the evening, as heavily armed attackers stormed the village, opening fire and wreaking havoc.

Eyewitnesses described scenes of chaos, with families fleeing for safety as the attackers raided homes and abducted several individuals.

The Katsina State Police Command has yet to release an official statement on the attack.

Efforts by Urban Express News Online to contact the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, were unsuccessful as calls went unanswered at the time of filing this report
