English sports presenter, Richards Keys has hit out at Ruben Amorim, insisting that the Manchester United manager is trying to get himself sacked after Sunday’s Premier League 3-1 loss to Brighton.
Amorim officially became Man United’s new manager last November.
The Portuguese replaced Erik ten Hag following a series of poor results.
Amorim is already under pressure and refusing to change his style of play amid concerns over his 3-4-3 formation.
Following Man United’s defeat to Brighton at Old Trafford, Amorim said at his post-match interview that his side is the ‘worst team’ maybe in the history of the club.
But Keys is not pleased with Amorim’s statement, insisting that it is his job to fix the Red Devils amid their poor results this season.
“What the hell was Ruben Amorim thinking when he said [his side were the worst team maybe in the history of Manchester United] yesterday?” Keys wrote on his blog.
“No criticism of them. Every other outlet did the same – whether it was the socials, radio, tv or the rest of the newspaper world. I still can’t fathom what Amorim was trying to achieve. We know United are bad.
“That’s why you’re there Ruben. It’s your job to fix it – not tell us ‘I only have one way’ and up by telling the world your players are s*** – the very same players you need to help you out of this mess.
“I said a couple of weeks ago I thought he was trying to get the sack. I’m even more convinced now. If I was his boss I’d call him in this morning and give him his wish.”
