Super Eagles captain, Wilfred Ndidi, says the team is ready to prevent a repeat of their last defeat to the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, Urban Express News reports.

Nigeria lost 1-0 to the North Africans the last time both countries met in a Round of 16 tie at AFCON 2021.

The Super Eagles impressed in the group stage of that edition, winning all three games and getting plaudits from fans and pundits as a result of their impressive brand of football.

Tunisia, on the other hand, barely made it through to the knockout round as one of the best losers.

Reflecting on the painful loss, Ndidi declared that they won’t allow a repeat occurrence this time around.

“It was a painful loss in 2019. But it gives us more confidence. When we talked about it, the guys were really, really prepared,” Ndidi said at a pre-match press conference on Friday.
