Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has singled out Arda Güler and Franco Mastantuono following his side’s UEFA Champions League 2-1 win against Marseille on Tuesday.
Alonso said he was pleased with Mastantuono, while Guler started well against the French Ligue 1 side.
Two goals from Kylian Mbappe ensured Real Madrid defeated Marseille at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Speaking at his post-match interview, Alonso said: “Arda started very well and then went through a phase where he dribbled too much and lost the ball.
“He is still developing. I’m also pleased with Franco. It will be similar to him.
“He will continue to improve because it is a big leap, and he has to keep adapting. He is on the right track.”
Real Madrid’s next game is against Espanyol in the LaLiga on Saturday
