Fluminense centre-back Thiago Silva has predicted the team to win this year’s FIFA Club World Cup.
Silva featured as Chelsea defeated Fluminense 2-0 in the Club World Cup semi-final on Tuesday to qualify for the final.
A brace from Pedro ensured Enzo Maresca’s defeat of the Brazilian club in the United States.
Speaking after the game, Silva tipped Chelsea to go on and win the Club World Cup.
The veteran defender, however, admitted that should Chelsea meet Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final, his heart will be divided.
Recall that PSG will face Real Madrid in the Club World Cup semi-final on Wednesday night, and the winner will face Chelsea in the final this weekend.
“I now hope Chelsea can do well in the final, regardless of who they face,” Silva told Globo.
“If it is Paris Saint-Germain, my heart will be divided. If it is Real Madrid, I’m rooting for Chelsea.
“Now it’s time to lift our heads, wish João Pedro luck, and move on.”
