Inter Milan President Giuseppe Marotta has insisted that captain Lautaro Martinez’s strong message was midfielder Hakan Çalhanoglu.
Recall that Martinez had seriously told his teammates that anyone who “doesn’t want to stay at the club should leave” this summer transfer window.
The Argentina striker spoke immediately after Inter Milan’s 2-0 shock defeat to Fluminense in the Club World Cup Round of 16 tie on Monday.
Recall that two goals from German Cano and Hercules gave Fluminense the win against the Serie A giants.
Speaking on the development, Moratta insisted that Martinez was speaking to Çalhanoglu.
“Lautaro’s message was for Hakan Çalhanoglu. We will speak with Hakan,” Moratta said (via @TouchlineX).
“If there are conditions to part ways, we will do it with zero problems.”
Çalhanoglu has been linked with a move to Turkish Super Lig champions Galatasaray this summer.
