Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has said he was happy with Vinícius Júnior’s performance in their 2-1 victory over Mallorca on Saturday.
Vinicius scored what proved to be the winning goal for Los Blancos on his return to the team.
Vedat Muriqi’s early header saw Madrid go behind, before Madrid hit back with two goals within a minute from Arda Güler and Vinícius to turn the game around.
It was Vinicius’ second goal in two games and saw Alonso’s men go into the international break with three wins out of three in LaLiga.
“[Vinícius] performed well,” Alonso said in his post-match news conference.
“It was a better game for him than against Osasuna, and it was an important goal to put us in front.”
