Nigeria’s Customs Service has established a Corporate Social Responsibility Unit decades after its establishment.

The spokesperson of Customs, Abdullahi Maiwada, made this known in a statement on Thursday, unveiling the unit.

The service also announced Comptroller Mbwidiffu Ibrahim as the head of the unit.

“The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has established a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Unit to drive its commitment to national development.

“This initiative underscores the service’s recognition of its broader responsibility beyond trade facilitation, revenue generation, and border security.

“The newly established CSR Unit is headed by Comptroller Mbwidiffu Ibrahim, fsi will spearhead programmes under the “Customs-Cares” initiative, designed to support national development priorities and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” the statement reads.
