Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher has criticised Arsenal defender William Saliba as the Gunners played a 2-2 draw with the Reds in the Premier League on Sunday.
Carragher said the Frenchman was really poor as he made an error that led to Cody Gakpo’s opening goal on 20 minute at Anfield.
Saliba was caught out of position for Cody Gakpo’s opening goal in the first halfq.
However, Carragher was not impressed with Saliba, calling the 24-year-old out in his half-time analysis.
“We know Arsenal like to go man-to-man when teams are playing at the back,” Carragher said on Sky Sports while analysing Gakpo’s goal.
“William Saliba has got to get over and cover Ben White, his starting position is really poor.”
“White is done with a ball over the top. White is then in the centre-back position, and Saliba is at right-back. Where is the leadership?
“He is not at right-back and he is not at centre-back. This is poor.”
Meanwhile, Luis Diaz, Mikel Merino and Gabriel Martinelli all scored during the encounter.
