David Seaman, a former Arsenal goalkeeper, has rubbished former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher’s recent comments about midfielder Declan Rice.
Following Arsenal’s recent Premier League 2-2 draw with Liverpool last weekend, Carragher suggested that Rice could start to think about his future and leave the Gunners if they fail to win a trophy again next season.
When asked to react to Carragher’s comments on the Seaman Says podcast, Seaman replied: “Wow. So we have not even finished this season, and he is talking about [Arsenal] not doing anything next season… and then someone [ Declan Rice] might leave in the next season.
” No, I can’t believe that he [Jamie Carragher] has said something like that because I am excited about next season with Arsenal.
“They are getting better and better; they are contending consistently.”
He added, “We end up playing PSG that were a fantastic team so Declan will stay. There is no problem, not at all.”
Rice joined Arsenal from West Ham United in 2023 after beating Manchester City for his signature.
The England star has quickly established himself at Emirates Stadium as a fan favourite.
