Former Tottenham Hotspur striker, Darren Bent, has called on Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, to consider dropping captain, Martin Odegaard, from the starting lineup.
Bent believes that Odegaard’s contributions from midfield have been lacking, suggesting that Eberechi Eze deserves an opportunity to shine in his place.
“Next weekend in the Premier League [against Leeds United], Odegaard should sit out. Honestly,” Bent said on talkSPORT.
“After Eze was unbelievable against Tottenham, Odegaard came back in, and he was better. I thought, “Okay, we are going to get the Odegaard back from two years ago,” but he has gone back to himself.
“He is offering nothing. Give Eze four or five games.”
