Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has weighed in on the future of Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, discussing whether the 33-year-old will remain with the Reds or depart during the January transfer window following the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Morocco.

Recall that Liverpool manager Arne Slot recently brought Salah back to the squad as they defeated Brighton 2-0 at the weekend.

This comes after the Egyptian international gave a controversial interview, in which he suggested he had been ‘thrown under the bus’ by Slot.

While talking about Salah’s future at Anfield, Neville said to NBC Sports: “Saturday was not a lap of honour of him leaving, it was more of a case of him going to AFCON, and then he can come back and play for Liverpool.

“The one thing that I feel about this is that Arne Slot said he was looking for an apology.

“We’ve not heard that he [Salah] has apologised, so is he behind the manager?

“So maybe Salah will leave [Liverpool]. But my gut feeling is that he stays this season at Liverpool.”
