Chelsea have activated clause to recall Trevoh Chalobah from Crystal Palace with immediate effect.
This was disclosed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano in a tweet on X on Wednesday.
Chalobah had to leave Chelsea to join Crystal Palace last summer on loan after he was not included in manager Enzo Maresca’s plan for this season.
However, both Chelsea and Maresca have now decided to bring the 25-year-old back to Stamford Bridge this January transfer window.
Chalobah was not included in Crystal Palace’s squad to face Leicester City tonight.
“Chelsea have activated a clause to recall Trevoh Chalobah from Crystal Palace with immediate effect,” Romano tweeted.
“Decision made by Enzo Maresca and the club’s management after many injuries with some defenders also set to leave.
“Chalobah leaves immediately, as David_Ornstein reports.”
Chelsea are keen to bolster their defence with defender Wesley Fofana currently injured.
