Nigeria forward, Paul Onuachu has discussed his future at Premier League club, Southampton.
Onuachu spent the 2023/24 season at the Turkish Super Lig club, Trabzonspor.
The 30-year-old was desperate to join the Black Sea Storm on a permanent transfer but the club failed to meet Trabzonspor’s valuation.
A move to another club also failed to materialise with the striker in limbo about his future.
Onuachu impressed on his first start of the season against Liverpool last month.
New manager, Ivan Juric is also willing to give him an opportunity to take claim for a regular playing berth at the club.
“It’s been (an) up and down season. First of all, we were talking about transferring and leaving the team,” he told the Daily Echo.
“It didn’t happen. I kept working hard and believing in myself. Russell Martin saw I had potential and started including me.
“He started to believe in me. He gave me some chances and I think I executed them very well. Now we are here.”
