Porto head coach, Vitor Bruno has revealed that he was unhappy with Arsenal midfielder, Fabio Vieira after his side’s 4-0 win over Boavista on Saturday night.
Vieira is currently on loan at Porto from Arsenal.
The Portugal international struggled to make an impact in his first two seasons with Arsenal under manager Mikel Arteta.
He has started in Porto’s last five matches but was left out of the squad by Bruno as Porto defeated Boavista at home.
Speaking after the match at his post-match interview, Bruno admitted that he had an issue with the 24-year-old which led to his decision to exclude him out of Porto’s squad against the visitors.
“I have to make decisions, pay close attention to the players’ performance and how they view their day-to-day activities,” Bruno said.
“He has immense potential and I have a large squad that offers me guarantees, I cannot give up on certain principles that are mine.
“I don’t need to pass on any message. Fabio knows me well and we are counting on him. He will be available to play again next week. So it is a question of making decisions”.
Porto’s next game is against Nacional on Friday.
