Former Chelsea winger, Joe Cole wants ‘world-class’ defender, Reece James back playing for the national team of England.
This comes after James’s impressive display in Chelsea’s UEFA Europa Conference League Round of 16 first leg tie against Copenhagen on Thursday.
“He will have the respect of every player at Chelsea because of what he can do technically and physically,” Cole told TNT Sports after Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Copenhagen.
“He’s got so much to offer Chelsea and so much to offer England. It is so great to see him impacting the game like he did tonight.
“Don’t give up on Reece James because there is still a real, real world-class player in there who can be a massive player for Chelsea and England. Hopefully he can keep going now,” he added.
James missed the first three months of the current season as a result of injury.
He then sustained another setback last November which ruled him out for another two months.
The 25-year-old joined Chelsea’s first team squad in 2018.
The England international also spent time on loan at Wigan Athletic in the past.
