A 34-year-old man, identified as Segun Adegbite, was found macheted to death at a construction site near WitchTech Factory on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.

The state police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed this to Urban Express News Online on Tuesday.

Odutola stated that the incident was reported to the Sagamu division of the command by one Adedeji Adegbola.

According to her, Adegbola reported that the local security guard attached to the construction site, identified as Hassan, informed him at about 10:00 a.m. on Monday that a violent altercation was taking place between the deceased and some unidentified persons.

She said, “The incident was reported to the Sagamu Police Division by one Adedeji Adegbola of Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, on Monday, October 28, 2024.

“Adegbola said the local security guard attached to the construction site, identified simply as Hassan, informed him at about 10:00 a.m. on the same day that a violent altercation was taking place between the deceased and some unidentified persons.”

Following this report, detectives quickly arrived at the location, where they found Segun’s body lying in a pool of blood, with multiple machete wounds on his body.

Odutola noted that a blood-stained machete was recovered at the scene, and the corpse was evacuated and deposited at Livewell Morgue for autopsy.

She added that the security guard had fled the scene, likely for his safety, and that an inquiry into the murder had begun.
