The Nigerian naira failed to appreciate against the dollar at parallel and official foreign exchange markets to end the week on a negative note.

A bureau de change operator at Wuse Zone 1, Raheem Ibrahim, disclosed on Friday that the Naira dropped to N1,640 per dollar on Friday from N1,630 traded on Thursday.

Urban Express News Online gathered that the Naira fell further by N10 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.

Similarly, at the official FX market, the naira weakened to N1,609.63 against the dollar on Friday compared to N1,608.60 exchanged on the previous day.

This comes as the Naira continued to depreciate against the dollar in the FX market on Thursday.
