Operatives of the Bauchi Police Command have arrested a suspected thief after busting a syndicate involved in warehouse theft across the metropolis.

Ukasha Adamu, 23, a resident of Ajiya Adamu Road, Bauchi metropolis, was arrested on November 11, 2024, following an investigation by the State Intelligence Department, SID.

The spokesman of Bauchi State Police Command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, in a statement issued on Monday, revealed that Adamu and his accomplices used fabricated keys to break into stores and steal valuable items.

Recovered items included 150 bags of parboiled rice, 43 cartons of spaghetti, 20 cartons of vegetable oil, and 42 cartons of liquid fertiliser.

The police estimate the total value of the seized goods at over N13.25 million.
