Barcelona player, Fermin Lopez, has asked the club to resign Lionel Messi as the Argentine is his dream teammate at the club.
Lopez wants to share the dressing room with the Argentine player, who left the club two years before he made his debut.
Lopez told the media he would be okay with sitting on the bench if it meant the club would have Messi back again.
He said that the Inter Miami captain was the only player he would want to sign for the club.
He added via GOAL, “If I could choose anyone to sign for Barca, I would pick Leo Messi.
“If they bench me for Messi, so be it!”
Lopez said that he’s playing his best football this season and hopes it keeps going for a while.
“Right now, I believe this is my best year so far. I really believe in my abilities across every part of the game, and I put in my best effort to display my strengths on the field.
“I hope I can keep performing well when taking shots from outside the box. I really want to support the team a lot. It’s not something I aimed for on my own, but because of the role I play, I know I need to score goals and make assists to help the team, and I hope I can contribute even more,” he said.
Lionel Messi left Barcelona in 2021 because the club were not able to offer him a new contract.
He joined PSG for two seasons and then moved to Inter Miami in June 2023, which was two months before Fermin Lopez started playing for the Catalan team.
