Former Aston Villa attacker, Gabriel Agbonlahor, has described Manchester United’s new striker, Benjamin Šeško, as a coward.

This was following the striker’s decision not to take one of the penalties in the Red Devils’ loss to English League Two side Grimsby Town, in the Carabao Cup second round on Wednesday.

The striker delayed his chance to take one of the Red Devils’ eleven penalty kicks in their 12-11 defeat to the lowly rated side.

Ruben Amorim’s side came from a 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with the League side before crashing out on a penalty shootout.

Another new signing, Cunha, had his effort saved, while Bryan Mbeumo missed his second effort in the shootout.

Agbonlahor was not happy with Sesko’s decision to delay his chance, insisting the former RB Leipzig striker should be confident and step up instead of letting every other player take their chance.

He told talkSPORT, “Your star striker was probably waiting for the Man United groundsman to turn up to Grimsby and take the penalty.

“He was 10th in line before the keeper. How can your star striker let all the defenders take a penalty before you, then he takes one and scores it? That shows to me that he’s a coward as well.”

Sesko joined Manchester United for a reported fee of £74 million from Bundesliga side, RB Leipzig this summer.
