Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says it is solidly behind the former Governor of the State, Godwin Obaseki, in all his programs and policies executed while in office.

Urban Express News reports that the party, in a statement issued by its Publicity Secretary, Dan Osa-Ogbegie, on Tuesday, said it would not allow the former Governor’s legacy to be undermined by those who contributed nothing to Edo’s progress.

According to him, the PDP stands solidly, unequivocally and unapologetically with Mr Godwin Obaseki.

“We will not allow his legacy to be undermined by those who contributed nothing to Edo’s progress.

“We stand with him because he governed with courage, protected Edo’s treasury, uplifted Edo’s people and resisted the predatory demands of political godfathers.

“History will vindicate him. Edo people already have”, he said.

The party, however, called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to rein in members of the All Progressives Congress in the State.

The party alleged that the conduct of the State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, and his handlers were overheating the polity and may precipitate a seismic conflagration if not immediately curtailed.
