The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, on Thursday decorated 119 senior police officers recently promoted by the Police Service Commission, PSC.
The ceremony, held at the Police Officers’ Mess in Old GRA, Port Harcourt, saw the promotion of 40 Superintendents to Chief Superintendents of Police (CSPs), 21 Deputy Superintendents to Superintendents of Police (SPs), and 58 Assistant Superintendents to Deputy Superintendents of Police, DSPs.
According to a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, the CP was assisted in decorating the officers by the Deputy Commissioners of Police overseeing the SCID, Operations, and Administration.
The CP commended the promotees for their dedication and hard work, attributing their elevation to their professional achievements.
Adepoju expressed gratitude to God for the success of the event and acknowledged the PSC and the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, for their roles in facilitating the promotions.
He emphasized that every promotion comes with increased responsibility and urged the officers to avoid misconduct and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of the Nigeria Police Force.
Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, CSP Orok Edet pledged their commitment to upholding the tenets of the force while carrying out their new responsibilities.
