Zamfara State Fire Service has revealed that it recorded 753 fire outbreaks that claimed 22 lives between January 2024 to January 2025 across the state.

This was disclosed by the Executive Director, of State Fire Service, Abdullahi Jibo Dauran during an interview with newsmen in his office, Gusau the state capital.

Dauran further stated that they have four zonal offices, and six stations across the state to tackle the issues of fire outbreaks and other related.

The Executive Director explained that fire outbreaks often result from electricity problems and urged the People of the State to switch off all electrical apparatus before sleeping.

“Carelessness may cause fire outbreak, so people should endeavour to avoid carelessness that may cause fire outbreak”, he added.

Dauran revealed that Governor Dauda Lawal has purchased new modern fire fighting vehicles to be installed in the State Fire Service offices to ease operation, saying that he has also provided all necessary equipment for the Fire Service.

He further urged drivers to avoid overloading and overspeeding as that may cause fire outbreaks.
