The Niger-Kogi Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has confiscated and handed over 283 wraps of cannabis sativa to the Nigeria Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, in Minna in a significant blow to illicit drug trafficking.

The estimated duty-paid value of the seized cannabis sativa stands at a staggering N5,666,000.

The Comptroller of the Command, Pascal Chibuoke briefed the press on the command’s activities over the past four weeks.

He highlighted the successful seizure, and detention of nine units of vehicles with a cumulative duty-paid value of over N170m.

Chibuoke commended his team’s resilience and doggedness, assuring that the command will continue to reward officers who excel in their duties.

While receiving the cannabis sativa on behalf of NDLEA, the Niger State Commander, Shehu Gwadabawa expressed gratitude for the inter-agency collaboration, stressing the importance of joint efforts in combating illicit activities.
