Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has turned down an £8.5m offer from Brazilian club Flamengo.
Jorginho’s current contract with Arsenal will expire at the end of the season.
The Italy international, who has been linked with a move away from the Gunners this year, has also attracted interest from another Brazilian club, Palmeiras, in recent weeks.
But no concrete proposal has been tabled by Palmeiras for his signature.
However, Flamengo is widely considered to be the leading contender for the 33-year-old’s signature, and according to Globo Esporte, negotiations are now ‘at a standstill’.
Both parties are ‘far from reaching an agreement’ at the moment.
The report added that Flamengo offered Jorginho a three-year deal worth around £8.5m, but the player wants close to £12m.
Jorginho has made 70 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal since he arrived from Premier League rivals Chelsea in 2023.
He has struggled for regular playing time this season under Arteta.
