Former lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has reacted to the arrest of Omoyele Sowore, former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, by the Department of State Services, DSS.
Urban Express News Online reported the DSS arrested Sowore, convener of the RevolutionNow Movement, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Sunday.
He was picked up at the airport by the DSS immediately upon his arrival in Nigeria.
But in a post on his X handle on Sunday, Sani appealed to the DSS to treat Sowore with honour and dignity and respect his constitutional rights.
He said: “I learned about the arrest of Sowore. I appeal that he should be treated with honour and dignity; and his constitutional rights be fully respected.”
