National leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Seriake Dickson, said the party has no faction like other political parties in Nigeria.
This was, as Dickson pointed out, because there is no litigation, stressing that the party is still united.
Dickson spoke at the NDC’s first national convention in Abuja on Saturday.
He said: “There is currently no legal case or appeal happening against the NDC. No groups are fighting each other, and everyone is free to run for any leadership role in the 2027 election without issue.
“We will find that some of these actions violated our constitutional right to freedom of association.”
This comes as former presidential candidates, Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso, joined the party.
With their decision to join the party, both will likely become the NDC’s presidential candidate and running mate for the 2027 election.
Meanwhile, the NDC has zoned its presidential ticket to Southern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 election.
