Tech billionaire, Elon Musk’s led Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE, on Thursday, reacted to the Department of Justice’s decision to cut millions of dollars in wasteful grants.
reports that the Department of Justice, had earlier on Thursday announced that it has started cutting millions of dollars in wasteful grants, which includes $2million for “national listening sessions of individuals with lived experience”.
It added that it also cut $695k for “a parallel convergent mixed-methods case study research design to assess the efficacy of police departments’ LGBTQ liaison services” and “$250k for working with incarcerated transgender individuals providing gender affirming care to including housing in gender appropriate facilities”.
Reacting to the development on Thursday, DOGE, in a tweet on X, hailed the Department of Justice and the US Attorney General Pamela Bondi for doing a “great work.”

@TheJusticeDept,” DOGE wrote.
This is coming less than a week after DOGE reacted to the Cancellation of the 402 Wasteful DEL Grant Worth $233 million by the US National Science Foundation, NSF.
Meanwhile, DOGE has been mandated by the US President Donald Trump’s administration to cut waste in US federal agencies.
Recently, Trump said he is satisfied with DOGE’s work, hinting that the department may stay indefinitely.
